They are the private foundation that has sponsored the research on the YAMATO I, the magneto- hydrodynamic superconducting ship. The Foundation was established with a fund provided by revenue from motorboat racing in Japan. The Ship and Ocean Foundation sponsors, not only individual research projects, but joint government- academia-industrial ship research projects, as well as international co-operation activities in the ship and marine areas. Message B describes only the "in house" facilities at Tsukuba. The major facilities at the Science City of Tsukuba are a Large Circulating water channel, an 80 by 45 meter Rectangular tank, and an oily water purifying facility.
